A Heritage of Compact Power

Kubota started manufacturing engines in 1922, developing the 3-horsepower Type A for agricultural and industrial use. From there it grew a wide range of high-output, compact, lightweight engines that earned the brand deep trust worldwide. Kubota's engines under 19 kW were the first to pass the US CARB ULGE emission regulations, helping make it one of the world's top-class makers of compact diesel engines.

Range and Responsibility

To meet the full breadth of industrial demand, Kubota built out an engine lineup reaching up to 86.4 kW across diesel and gasoline options, then extended it through the Kubota 09 series to engines up to 157.3 kW. Holding itself to strict environmental standards, Kubota became the first company in the world to earn California Air Resources Board emission certification for small industrial engines in 1993, and it continues to develop reduced-emission and hybrid power.

Worldwide and Well-Supported

Today Kubota exports its engines worldwide, with production in Japan, China, and Thailand and more than 110 offices globally. Its engines power farms, construction sites, generators, and utility vehicles, all backed by strong customer support, ready parts availability, and training programmes that keep equipment running and owners confident.
